Contact with the children

When a relationship breaks down not only will it be necessary to agree where the children will live, it is also important to agree the arrangements for the children to have contact with the parent with whom they don’t live.

This is often a particularly difficult task for parents both of whom may be very capable of caring for their children. For practical reasons children will spend more time with one parent than the other but it is important that they see the other parent. Couples are not always able to see eye to eye on all relevant issues and this is where our specialists at Shacklocks are able to assist.

By communicating and agreeing arrangements at an early stage parents should be able to avoid lengthy, costly and emotionally draining disputes over how and when they see their children.
