Asbestosis and work related illness

Asbestos-related diseases occur by inhaling or ingesting minute fibres of asbestos. People are usually exposed during their course of employment, but there have also been incidents of victims being exposed to secondary exposure to asbestos. Examples might include a wife washing her husband’s clothing or a child sitting on its parent’s knee.

Past exposure to asbestos can give rise to a number of diseases, including pleural thickening and the more serious asbestos diseases, such as lung cancer, asbestosis and mesothelioma.

If you or a relative believe that you have been affected by asbestos or in the unfortunate event that a loved one has died of an asbestos related disease, please contact us to discuss how we can help.
