Accidents at work

Whilst ever you are at work, your employer should ensure that you can perform your duties adequately and safely. This could include ensuring that you have the right work equipment and protective clothing, as well as carrying out risk assessments to do what is needed to protect your health and safety whilst at work.

Accidents at work cover a variety of situations from being involved in an accident whilst working at height on ladders or scaffolds to working on machinery without a guard being adequately fitted or tripping over an obstacle left in your way.

If you have an accident at work, you may be entitled to compensation if it can be shown that your employer failed in its duties and exposed you to risk.

Serious work-related injuries must be reported to the Health and Safety Executive, who will make their own investigations and we are able to analyse and make use of their reports where appropriate.
