Dementia is the strongest determinant of entry into residential care in the over 65’s

Typically only 4 minutes of every 6 hours is spent by patients interacting with others

54% of carers reported that their relative did not have enough to do and had no access to outside spaces or gardens

1 in 4 respondents were unsatisfied with the level of their involvement in decision making about the care of a relative

153 respondents felt that staff did not pay sufficient attention to the family members’ views and that staff made decisions that were not preferred by family members.
