Living Together

Our client was a man who wanted to cohabit outside of a civil partnership with his long-term partner.

He had entered the relationship with significantly greater assets than his partner and wanted to protect them in the event of future breakdown of the relationship. We were able to advise him on all aspects of his proposed living together arrangements including buying a house, making a Will, and investing his assets and help him to reach an agreement with his partner which was formally set out in a Deed.

When a dispute arose later in the relationship we were able to rely on the Cohabitation Deed to assist the client in preserving his assets against a claim by his partner.
