Representing Grandparents

Our clients were grandparents whose grandchild was taken away from their daughter by the local authority when the child suffered an unexplained illness.

Our clients wanted to support their daughter yet also be there for their grandchild in the event that the worst came to the worst and their daughter was found to have harmed the child.

We were able to represent the grandparents and ensure they were fully involved with the court proceedings and have access to all the evidence by having them joined as Interveners. We were able to help them put together a successful case against the local authority including obtaining appropriate expert evidence with the result that the case against their daughter was dropped and the child safely returned to her home.
